Afternoon Shift Shop Foreman (310T) - Niagara
FULL TIME POSITION FOR AFTERNOON SHIFT FOREMAN - METRO TRUCK NIAGARA LOCATION.
The Metro Truck Group is a full-service centre for all heavy truck & trailer needs. As our trusted brand continues to evolve, the Service Foreman is responsible for working alongside the Service Manager to run an efficient and profitable service department. This includes monitoring technician performance, maintaining quality control, and ensuring top level customer service. The Service Foreman can expect to work indoors and outdoors as necessary to address any specific needs and resolving any customer issues.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Supervise day to day operations of the service shop
- Provide hands-on guidance to mechanics, while appropriately delegating responsibilities and individual projects
- Assist in assessing work orders, inspecting and testing mechanical units, diagnosing faults and malfunctions and, repair and replace mechanical units, test and adjust units to specifications when necessary
- Identify warrantable repairs and document on repair order when necessary
- Provide guidance and training to mechanics
- Monitor quality control by spot-checking repairs, either in the shop or during road tests
- Effectively communicate with customers via email, phone calls and in person
- Work with Service Advisor to prioritize work and update customers
- Prepare estimates, repair orders/reports and provides review with customers
- Review repair orders with customers and collect signatures and payments as needed
- Follow through with the day operations and organize the work flow for the next shift
- Resolve work issues and recommend measures to improve productivity
- Commitment to meeting deadlines in a fast paced environment to ensure customer satisfaction
- Work alongside Service Manager to implement and execute short, medium, and long-term department goals
- Uphold strong communication, organization and time management skills; ability to interact effectively with customers and all levels of staff
- Foster a cooperative and positive workplace environment
- Perform work with safety as a priority and abiding by all safety policies and standards set out by the Metro Truck Group of Companies
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures as set out by the Metro Truck Group of companies
- Position requires standing; lifting; walking; bending; and occasional ladder use
- General housekeeping duties
- All other responsibilities as assigned
Education & Qualifications:
- TRUCK AND COACH TECHNICIAN 310T or equivalent
- Dealership background considered strong asset
- Valid Drivers Licensed with ability to reliably commute
- Commitment to personal safety and safety of coworkers
- While performing the duties of this Job, technicians are regularly required to stand; walk; bend; lift
- Excellent time management and communication skills
